MonitorMagic supports multiple alarm methods, such as Email, Stop / Restart Service, Event Log Message, and Server Reboot.
When a rule monitor is triggered, MonitorMagic can execute alarm actions, for instance: send an Email, send an SNMP trap, or restart a service. Each rule can have any number of alarm actions and each alarm action supports Alarm Escalation.
Alarm Escalation: In MonitorMagic, alarm escalation is supported by means of un-acknowledged rules and specific alarm action settings. With MonitorMagic, detected problems can be escalated when they are not solved or taken care of.
Example: Suppose you want to monitor a critical system. When the system is overloaded, (CPU-load too high) a monitor rule is triggered. Notifications will be sent to the local Administrator of the system. If within 60 minutes, the problem still exists and no one has taken care of the problem, you want to escalate the problem and send an email to your own email account.
