The SpaceGuard SRM Auto Add feature allows network administrators to "Set & Forget" when it comes to Disk Quota Management. The Auto Add feature eliminates the need to manually create or remove directory quotas when directories are added or deleted.
The SpaceGuard SRM service continuously monitors for any directory changes to a directory being managed by the Auto Add feature. When SpaceGuard SRM determines a new directory has been added it will automatically apply a new directory quota to the directory. This is extremely useful for large and rapidly changing home directory shares.
Example: An network administrator sets the Auto Add feature on directory F:\USERS. Five new domain users are created along with their new home directories. The SpaceGuard SRM service will automatically detect the new directories and add five new directory quotas using the Auto Add feature.
